After exchanging words over how each of them earned their millions, Simon Jordan and Eddie Hearn renewed their on-air rivalry. As the Anthony Joshua-Dillian Whyte fight was being postponed, controversial sports commentator Jordan was joined by Matchroom Sport chairman Hearn at the talkSport studio.
Jordan, the former owner of Crystal Palace, and Eddie Hearn, his adversary, got into a heated argument about how each person acquired their enormous wealth, which rekindled their old animosity.
Hearn ultimately gets the chance to speak after some early back-and-forth overlap, and he begins by joking that Jordan has become a “You’re a disc jockey” in reference to his rise to prominence in sports broadcasting.
“And you’re your dad’s son. Who’s a business you inherited,” Jordan hit back with a sneaky remark on Hearn. Hearn eventually asked everyone to listen and stated, ‘I want to address that. Now that you’re talking about my father, you’re talking about what I’ve inherited”. After that, Hearn explained how Jordan took a start-up and made it successful, and he was quite polite during the clash.
Anthony Joshua moves on from Dillian Whyte and is looking forward to fighting Robert Helenius
Robert Helenius, who will take on Anthony Joshua on Saturday night at London’s O2 Arena, has been named Dillian Whyte’s substitute. The fight between Joshua and fellow British heavyweight Dillian Whyte had to be postponed last Saturday after the fighter was caught using illegal substances.
The former two-time world heavyweight champion took the whole thing very professionally and, in an interview, said: “This wasn’t in the script. I respect Helenius and, may I say, I respect any male or female who steps into the ring. I am laser-focused on the win. I can make steps forward to bigger and better things.”
In 2011, the Stockholm-born Helenius defeated Derek Chisora in a tough split decision to capture the vacant European championship title, thus he is no stranger to British boxers. Six years later, in Cardiff, the orthodox heavyweight lost to Whyte on points, but only after agreeing to the fight on short notice. Helenius is quite excited to fight AJ and has plans for getting the most out of the opportunity.
