UFC’s pound for pound king, Kamaru Usman is all set to defend his welterweight title against Leon Edwards in a title rematch. Usman has defeated almost every top-ranked contender in his division, and now he is taking on these rematches to keep the engine running.
Usman has been asking for a boxing match against the boxing’s pound-for-pound number one fighter, Canelo Alvarez for a long time, and his call-outs are getting more intense than ever. Usman started his MMA journey as a wrestler but he developed as a striker under the guidance of Henri Hooft and the great Trevor Wittman.
He has been knocking out people left and rights in his previous sightings, and he believes with enough hard work and time, he can definitely stop Canelo Alvarez in his tracks. Canelo is considered the best boxer of our era, he holds a professional record of 57-1-2, and his only loss came against the undefeated star, Floyd Mayweather.

Canelo is not worried about Usman, and he claimed he would gladly take this fight for a sh*t ton of money. Usman’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz
has been pushing for this fight as well, and he recently called out Canelo on Twitter, he wrote, “@Canelo is an absolute chicken, he is fighting guys with 5000 followers on Instagram, these guys will never do nothing for his legacy. Now I understand why he doesn’t wanna lose to someone like @USMAN84kg this is chicken style, no risk – no reward.”
Canelo took notice of this, and dropped a savage reply, he wrote, “Who the f*ck is this?”
Ali then retaliated with a vicious taunt, “You know who I am, you know what’s the difference between you and @USMAN84kg ? You’ve been ducking GGG for 2 years now, but Kamaru have fought everybody UFC threw at him. I’m being very nice to you, because it’s Ramadan.”
