Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia have had quite a rocky relationship. They once trained in the same camp when Garcia came under the tutelage of Alvarez’s coach. However, things did not remain constant between these parties, which led to a fallout between them. Since then, neither of them has held any grudge. As such, Alvarez recently expressed concern over Garcia’s well-being.
This is mainly because of his erratic and concerning behavior on social media. It remains a pressing issue. Garcia’s antics even called the NSAC (New York State Athletic Commission) to ask him to take a mental evaluation test ahead of the Devin Haney fight. ‘King Ry’ has so far refused to see any problems with his antics. However, his actions and social media antics have painted a different picture. Alvarez spoke about this and stated:
He's a good kid; he's a good person. The people around him need to help him. I feel a little sad for him because he needs to have good people around him.Canelo Alvarez via Fight Hub TV

Recently, Garcia’s brother came out and said the boxer faced some hard times in his life. Canelo must have heard the brother’s revelation and chose to convey positive feelings while speaking to the press. Only Garcia knows what the problem is, and Canelo wishes for the very best for ‘King Ry.’
Garcia’s antics have also upset Alvarez, and he said he felt sad for him. No one wants their close acquaintance or their friends to go through troubling times. Hence, Canelo showed empathy during his interview with the press. The future of Ryan Garcia remains uncertain and only time will tell if he receives the help he requires.
Oscar De La Hoya fires shots at Canelo Alvarez after press conference
Canelo Alvarez is set to return on May 4th in Las Vegas, where he will take on Golden Boy Promotion’s undefeated boxer Jaime Munguia. This is Alvarez’s second fight against a Golden Boy fighter after leaving the promoter in 2020 due to contractual issues. However, the bad blood between Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya continues.

The Mexican boxing superstar has also remained vocal about his issues with De La Hoya. Hence, after the press conference, Canelo Alvarez stated that he still didn’t like the kind of person De La Hoya was. This prompted the promoter to fire back at Alvarez by calling the press conference boring. Check out what Oscar De La Hoya tweeted below:
Furthermore, Oscar De La Hoya did not just call the press conference boring; he compared it to the boredom of an Alvarez fight. These were fiery words from the legendary boxer turned promoter. Boxing fans will likely witness more back-and-forths as the fight between Munguia and Alvarez grew close.
