Conor McGregor not ruling out fights with ‘YouTube nerds’ Jake Paul, KSI, and Tommy Fury

Conor McGregor has not entered the boxing ring since his massive crossover fight against Floyd Mayweather in 2017. The UFC star last fought inside the octagon in his fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021. Hence, many fans have been awaiting his return to the combat sports world. Subsequently, McGregor has now announced his intent to potentially fight celebrity boxers like Jake Paul, KSI, and Tommy Fury. 

People often call out McGregor because of his immense stardom and ability to make big fights happen. As such, Paul has called out Conor McGregor for a boxing match several times in the past. However, McGregor always showed little to no interest in having a crossover boxing match with celebrity boxers. This seems to have changed now, and McGregor has announced that he is willing to make such a fight happen. This is likely due to his consecutive losses in the octagon. 

The YouTuber nerds could be like - I would consider that a nixer. If I was to pick one, KSI has a big name in the UK. Fury called me out today or yesterday and he beat Jake and fought KSI… I'm open for it, I'll never say no

McGregor called the fight with a celebrity boxer a nixer, which refers to a side job. Furthermore, McGregor stated that if he had to pick between them, he would consider fighting KSI. This is because KSI has an immense fanbase in the UK.

Furthermore, McGregor also brought up the fact that Fury called him out for a fight recently. In addition, he stated that he would be willing to fight Fury since he defeated Paul and has fought KSI. Hence, a potential fight between McGregor and a YouTube boxer may happen in the future.

While contemplating a fight against the YouTube boxers, McGregor did not show much interest in facing Paul. Furthermore, he instead picked KSI because of his fanbase, and Fury because he defeated Paul and KSI.

As such, when McGregor talked about fighting Paul, he mentioned how strange Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson was. This is likely due to the huge age gap between the two.

In addition, while McGregor finds the fight strange, he still hopes that Tyson puts Paul in his place. Subsequently, McGregor mentioned that he was not that interested in the bout. The fight between Paul and Tyson is set to happen on July 20 and will be streamed live on Netflix.
