Conor McGregor posted a picture of his first fight with Floyd Mayweather on his Instagram account. Since then fans have been speculating about their rematch. Mayweather also hinted about fighting McGregor again before finally announcing the fight.
Mayweather in a recent interview with MailSports revealed that he is going to fight the “Irishman” in 2023. However, ‘Money’ isn’t sure if it’s going to be a professional fight or an exhibition one. He said : “We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight, but there have been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition.”
Mayweather’s recent choices of fighting with Conor and other YouTubers such as Logan Paul in the past and Deji in upcoming months is a very practical strategy. While talking about it, the boxing legend revealed that he wants to fight guys against whom there are fewer chances of injury.
“I’m not into fights where I’m going to take any real punishment. So guys like Conor McGregor and guys that don’t really hit hard such as YouTubers. I don’t really mind colliding with those individuals, but nothing where I’m going to harm myself,” said Mayweather.

Netizens doesn’t want Conor McGregor to fight against Floyd Mayweather in a rematch
The fight announcement took the Twitter by storm and the users went crazy with their response.
One user claimed Mayweather doesn’t want to get dropped by Conor McGregor that’s why he is choosing for an exhibition bout.
“Wants it as an exhibition so when Conor sleeps him with that legendary left it doesn’t count ??.”
Another user simply said that they don’t want two out-of-prime fighters to fight each other.
“Seriously wouldn’t watch this if it were in my back garden, what’s the reason for Floyd doing these? Has he burned a big chunk of his savings?”
An annoyed user clearly stated that retired fighters should remain retired and not take part in such ventures.
“I’ll never understand the point of an exhibition bout. Just stay retired,”
Many believe that it’s just going to be a fight for both the fighters to make millions and nothing else.
“The same story will repeat. Will make a fool of the fans and sell the fight. Easy money for both of them.”
A McGregor fan mentioned that the fighter is coming to avenge his first loss against Mayweather this time.
“The comeback starts here ?? we want revenge… The Champ Champ is here?”
One user agreed with the fact that Mayweather should not take unnecessary risks of getting injured in the fight and just focus on easy wins.
“Very understandable. Makes no sense to do that anyway. Man’s got no point to prove other than to catch cruise and stay fit.”
