The upcoming bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury takes place on Saturday. The crossover boxing match between former UFC heavyweight champion and current WBC heavyweight champion is set for ten rounds. Conor McGregor received an invite for the matchup and will arrive in Saudi Arabia for the bout. McGregor believed that Ngannou may have difficulty landing a big knockout shot, but it was still possible.
McGregor analyzed the matchup on X. This is what he said about the crossover boxing bout:
Francis has power. Francis has big power with a striker’s mentality. If it gets a bit tougher for him in the later rounds, the striker mentality will withstand versus if it was a mixed martial artist’s mentality. With power, with that anything can happen. Mike Tyson in the corner — that type of style could be a kryptonite of a long, rangy distance type of fighter in Tyson Fury.Conor McGregor via X

McGregor recently shared his thoughts on Ngannou’s fighting style, describing him as more of a kickboxer/boxer than a mixed martial artist. He believed that Ngannou preferred to keep the fight standing and had a striker’s mindset. The Irishman thought Ngannou’s stand-up skills would benefit him in his upcoming bout.
Ngannou’s knockout power has impressed many, including Mike Tyson, who will corner him for the upcoming fight. Ngannou can knock anyone out in MMA with his power. However, it remains to be seen if his power in MMA will translate to boxing.
