Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury share one of the biggest rivalries in modern boxing history. The first match between them ended in a contentious tie in December 2018. Fury defeated Wilder in their rematch by TKO in February 2020 to win the WBC heavyweight championship. A year later, the pair met for their trilogy fight and Fury again knocked out Wilder, hence ending the rivalry.

However, the ‘Bronzebomber’ never had any respect for Fury and often accused the Brit of cheating. Wilder never acknowledged Fury’s ability; instead, he often mocks the champion whenever he gets the opportunity. But Fury has a different opinion about Americans.

Recently, in an interview with TNT Sports he said, “Fair play to Deontay, he has got the heart of a lion. No matter what he says about me, you have to admire someone you fought three times. Whether I had horse shoes in my gloves or he had a suit too heavy, I respect that fact that we’ve had the trilogy and knocked lumps out of each other.”

The ‘Gypsy King‘ considers Wilder a worthy opponent and the best heavyweight fighter after himself. Fury is not concerned about the accusations and is proud of the fact that they both shared such a vicious rivalry.

Fury shocked the observers by rising from the canvas to ultimately secure a draw. However, in his conversation with Rio Ferdinand for TNT Sports, the British boxer acknowledged that Wilder had landed a genuinely impactful and precise punch during that memorable bout.

Tyson Fury recalled that he was out cold. He opened his eyes and saw the referee counting. However, he didn’t want to rush to his feet because he didn’t know where his legs would be after getting chinned properly. Fury had just taken a solid punch, and if he had jumped up and ended up falling over again, the fight might have been stopped, so he took every bit of time.
