Dillon Danis and Logan Paul are scheduled to fight on the prime card on October 14. The promotion announced Mike Perry as the backup in case Danis pulled out. Recently, Mike Perry posted a video on social media insinuating that he would fight on October 14. This sent the combat sports community into a frenzy.

Mike Perry, in the video, said, “It’s official guys, I’m in.” This was enough for the combat sports community to decipher that Danis was out of the scheduled bout. Danis personally attacked Logan Paul after they announced their bout. Danis attacked Nina Agdal on social media which in turn resulted in a defamation lawsuit against him. Many observers are of the opinion that Danis might pull out due to the lawsuit. From the fan reactions, it was evident that Perry was a bigger star than Danis.

Perry left the UFC and signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and currently enjoys a superstardom. He is currently the face of the promotion. The former UFC fighter defeated the likes of Michael “Venom” Page and Luke Rockhold in BKFC. Moreover, the surprise announcement of Perry as the backup for the Danis vs. Paul bout became a pleasant surprise.

The prime card on October 14 is peculiar as it has a double main event. In addition to Danis vs. Paul, it also has KSI vs. Tommy Fury as the main event. KSI was once scheduled to fight Danis but Danis pulled out. This action faced consequences as he endured the wrath of social media trolls. The press conference of the event in London had massive views on social media.

Dillon Danis has clarified his participation after the arrival of Mike Perry’s video on X. Perry’s video resulted in a massive outcry as fans hoped to see Danis and Logan Paul inside the boxing ring. Danis in response posted tweets reaffirming his participation. One of his tweets read, “See you October 14th pu**y boy.” and the other read “I’ll be there fight night everyone can calm down,” with a picture of him post-training.

Logan Paul too chimed in on his X account bashing Danis and boasting that he would knock out whoever was against him inside the ring. Many observers noted that Paul might be behind Agdal suing Danis for defamation. Danis posted some explicit pictures of Agdal on social media. He dug up photos of Agdal and her ex-boyfriends and reposted them with the intention to get one over Paul.

Jake Paul, the younger brother of Logan Paul, personally attacked Danis’ family before this incident. The younger Paul brother attacked the character of Danis’ mother on social media. This was the reason why Danis held nothing back when attacking Paul on social media. In the world of combat sports, trash-talking is necessary. However, severe personal attacks may result in incidents like the post-fight melee at UFC 229.

In the aftermath of UFC 229, Khabib Nurmagomedov after defeating Conor McGregor jumped out of the cage to attack Danis and a fight ensued between McGregor’s team and the Russian’s team. The commission fined and suspended all the fighters involved in the brawl.
