“Fight for another belt,” Dmitry Bivol brushes off Canelo Alvarez ‘money fight’ for championship glory

Dmitry Bivol is set to fight Lyndon Arthur in the massive, stacked fight card ‘The Day of Reckoning.’ Hence, while Bivol fights in the Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Walin main card, he is under the limelight. During one of his several appearances, Bivol appeared on GQ Sports to reveal his top 10 essentials. Furthermore, in the video, Bivol briefly spoke about Canelo Alvarez and their chances of fighting again.
Alvarez moved up to light heavyweight for the second time in May 2022 to take on WBA champion Dmitry Bivol. Bivol won by a unanimous decision over the then-number-one-ranked contender in the world. All three judges scored the fight 115-113 in favor of Bivol. However, many in the crowd thought Bivol deserved a more definitive result. This is what Bivol stated about a future bout:

Bivol has recently learned to speak English without a translator. He stated that he wasn’t interested in fighting Alvarez. Furthermore, Bivol is more interested in acquiring more championship titles and building his legacy as a champion.
Subsequently, Bivol mentioned how he had defeated Alvarez and did not feel the need to fight him because he had already won. However, Bivol has mentioned previously that he could potentially fight Alvarez for his middleweight belts instead.

Bivol, the WBA light heavyweight champion, recently praised Jake Paul and spoke about him a lot. The YouTube sensation won his eighth professional fight by knocking out André August in the first round. This was Paul’s second fight against a professional boxer after losing a split decision to Tommy Fury last February.
Speaking to TMZ Sports recently, the undefeated Bivol praised ‘The Problem Child’ for his accomplishments in his short career. Bivol stated that he liked Paul, even if he wasn’t an orthodox boxer, and that he loved boxing. Subsequently, Bivol mentioned that Paul was working hard and putting in the work instead of claiming to beat everyone.
In addition, Bivol mentioned that he wouldn’t be interested in fighting Paul, even if a lot of money were involved. Furthermore, Bivol stated that he wishes to pursue championship titles instead of big-money fights.
