Katie Taylor has become the new undisputed champion of two weight divisions after a ten-round unanimous decision over England’s Chantell Cameron on Saturday night. Taylor had lost to Cameron in their previous fight in May, who won by a points decision after ten hard-fought rounds. Subsequently, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn declined to talk about Conor McGregor after the fight, which he attended alongside Taylor.

Recently, McGregor has been the subject of criticism for his social media posts regarding the recent unrest in Dublin. Furthermore, McGregor’s former two-time UFC champion company, Forged Irish Stout, was a sponsor for Saturday night’s bout. Subsequently, at the post-match press conference following the fight, promoter Hearn was seated next to Katie Taylor.

During the press conference, a reporter asked Taylor about her connections to McGregor. Hearn instantly shot down the reporter’s question by stating:

You can ask me away from the press conference, you can ask me after the press conference, I'll answer it. But, not in front of Katie Taylor, this is her night.

When Hearn heard the reporter’s question, he looked disappointed and seemed to have been expecting it.

Furthermore, Hearn stated that McGregor’s brand, Forged Irish Stout, supports boxing, but Taylor is not connected to it. In addition, Hearn stated that he would not talk about McGregor at Taylor’s press conference after her amazing victory.

Eddie Hearn talks about Katie Taylor’s future

After losing her first fight six months ago, Taylor is back with the biggest victory of her career. In a big rematch, Taylor won by a majority decision, just the way her opponent did in their last fight, which took place in her native Ireland.

Following the victory, Taylor’s promoter, Hearn, stated that he expects bigger fights for the champion in the near future. Furthermore, while standing next to Tyalor in the ring, he stated that she is now a two-division champion.

Subsequently, Hearn mentioned that this was the greatest night of her career and mentioned a potential future bout in Croke Park. In addition, Croke Park is home to the Irish national sports governing body, the GAA.

It is widely regarded as Ireland’s national stadium and hosts many of Ireland’s major sporting events. Hence, a potential trilogy match between Taylor and Cameron may take place in Croke Park in the future.
