Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his title against Daniel Dubois by knocking him out in the 9th round of the fight. But the talk of the town in that fight was the ruled-out punch, which was called a low blow from Dubois to Usyk. Dubois dropped Usyk in the fifth round of the fight with a body shot.
This body shot was later ruled out as a low blow by referee Luis Pabon, as Dubois’s gloves were seen hitting Uysk’s waistband. This incident has left the boxing world in a dilemma, as some fans are backing the ref’s decision, but some also believe that Dubois’s punch was not at fault.
After the fight, Dubois was asked about his opinion on the decision. He said, “I don’t think that was a low blow. I’ve been cheated out of victory tonight. That was a win.” The fight in Poland has sparked a debate on social media. One of the fans tweeted, “Dubois was robbed.” A potential official countdown for a knockdown was changed to some cooling-off minutes for Usyk after that decision.

Further, his opponent Dubois dropped his record to 19-2 after succumbing to a loss.
