KSI and Tommy Fury have recently reached a last-minute agreement, ensuring that their much-anticipated fight will indeed take place. KSI issued a deadline to Love Island star Tommy Fury, urging him to sign the contract before Monday evening. The good news is that the promoter representing KSI has confirmed that both parties have now agreed on a specific weight for the fight. This brings them one step closer to officially announcing the much-anticipated bout.
Talks of a showdown between KSI and Fury in Manchester have been circulating for forever. However, due to an illegal elbow thrown during KSI’s last fight, the win was ultimately overturned. Tempers flared as Fury entered the ring to confront KSI, leading to a heated confrontation. It required security personnel to intervene and separate them.
Interestingly, Fury initially refused to fight at the proposed weight of 180 pounds. Instead, he insisted on a weight change to 185 pounds, also calling for a rehydration clause to be included in the contract. KSI, after careful consideration, agreed to the weight adjustment on the condition that the rehydration clause be incorporated. Tommy Fury‘s refusal to fight at 180 pounds is surprising, given that he has consistently weighed in below that mark for several of his previous professional bouts.
However, Tommy Fury is under fire after many fans criticized him for ditching the championship route to fight prize fighters. Fury’s last fight was against Jake Paul, and now it seems like a KSI-Fury clash is imminent. He had previously expressed his desire to fight Floyd Mayweather. While training with Eddie Hall, the retired strongman asked Tommy who his dream fight would be. “I’d like to get in there with Mayweather you know…,” Tommy replied.
