The renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished boxers in the sport’s history. Furthermore, Mayweather earned his well-known undefeated record after spending over two decades in the sport. Subsequently, fans adore Mayweather for his brilliance inside the ring and his extravagant lifestyle outside the ring.
Mayweather embodies hard work and dedication in his mottos and is renowned for outworking other athletes in the sport. Typically, Mayweather goes to the gym in the afternoon and has an intense workout session. Subsequently, he likes to train all night when his opponents are asleep because it gives him a mental edge over them. Furthermore, he trains anywhere and anytime, regardless of his shoes or clothes. Hence, all these traits make Mayweather an idol and inspiration for several people, but he doesn’t always receive the recognition he deserves.
Mayweather and the British boxer Anthony Joshua were once spotted attempting to pose for pictures with fans at an event. However, almost all the fans who came to take pictures with the renowned boxers blatantly ignored Mayweather. Furthermore, fans were more interested in greeting Joshua and shaking his hands while Mayweather stood awkwardly waiting for attention.
Through their actions and body language, Joshua noticed the fans being insensitive towards Floyd Mayweather. Subsequently, Joshua ensured Mayweather appeared in all the pictures they took with the boxing fans.

Most of the fans who were present to pose for photographs did not even acknowledge the presence of Mayweather. This was a rare sight, making Mayweather uncomfortable, as he appeared visibly awkward as each fan ignored him for Joshua. Furthermore, regarding his boxing legacy, Mayweather’s record and accomplishments are far greater than what Joshua has achieved. In addition, Mayweather has a much more flamboyant lifestyle and has achieved much more financial success than Joshua. Social media fans ridiculed Mayweather for appearing visibly awkward and uncomfortable after being ignored by stating, “‘Looks so hurt.”
However, casual boxing fans follow the heavyweight division closely instead of the other sports divisions. This might explain why the fans at the event were paying more attention to Joshua than Mayweather. Hence, people put Joshua more under the limelight as a former heavyweight champion, even though they consider Mayweather the best pound-for-pound fighter.
