The all-time great undefeated boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a record of 50-0 and won 27 of those fights via KO. Furthermore, legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard has an old family beef with the Mayweathers after beating Floyd Mayweather Sr. Leonard once posted a picture of himself with Thomas Hearns on Instagram, and Mayweather Jr. started a beef.
After the photo was uploaded, Floyd Mayweather said that Hearns and Leonard did not pose any threat to him. Subsequently, Leonard responded that he had defeated Floyd Mayweather Sr. and could easily knock out Mayweather Jr. in his prime. Furthermore, Hearns also responded to Mayweather and mocked his smaller size. After Leonard’s response, Mayweather commented that his first loss came against Roberto Duran, a lightweight, while Mayweather never lost in his career.
Leonard commented that Mayweather Sr. was a bit of a hindrance in his career, but he swiftly dealt with it. However, Sugar Ray Leonard acknowledged that Mayweather Jr. would be much harder as Leonard would use feints and body shots to attain victory.
In an interview with FightHype, Mayweather revealed that the beef started because Leonard threw shots at him. Furthermore, Mayweather stated that he had nothing but respect for legendary boxers. but Leonard started the beef by disrespecting him.
