In a sarcastic gesture, Francis Ngannou playfully taunted Tyson Fury on social media. He asserted that he was the preferred heavyweight boxer of the Manchester United football team. As the new Premier League season started, Manchester United embarked on their US tour. During their friendly match against Borussia Dortmund, Francis Ngannou attended the game to show his support for the club.

Dressed in a Manchester United jersey, Ngannou took to Twitter and humorously declared himself as Manchester’s favorite heavyweight boxer. He wrote, “? @ManUtd’s favorite heavyweight boxer is in the building ? Can’t wait to watch the match tonight in Vegas #FuryNgannou #MUFC.”

Considering Tyson Fury’s well-known allegiance to the football club for many years, Ngannou’s statement served as a direct jab at his upcoming opponent in the October fight. The duo has gone back and forth in recent weeks.

In response to Ngannou’s tweet, the official Twitter account of Manchester United replied with a diplomatic stance, stating, “We don’t pick favorites,” indicating their neutrality in the highly anticipated mega-fight between Tyson Fury and Ngannou, set to take place in Saudi Arabia
