Francis Ngannou has now had two professional boxing fights in his career. The latest being with Anthony Joshua. The Predator’s first two opponents are arguably two of the best current active heavyweights in the division. This was only possible because of his star power and the ability to knock any man out with his raw strength. However, power alone was not enough for him to overcome the hurdles in front of him. This was evident after his knockout loss to Joshua. It surely humbled the big Cameroonian. Fortunately, that wasn’t enough for him to quit his boxing dream as he wished to reclaim his lost respect in the ring.

During his professional debut, Ngannou shocked the world after it was expected that Tyson Fury would wipe the floor with him. To everyone’s surprise, Ngannou was able to knock Tyson down and dominate most of the fight. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough for the judges as they gave the win to Fury. Reflecting on his two outings in the ring, he had this to say:

I think now I need to do boxing to claim something—to claim my respect, to claim my dignity, to claim everything.

Ariel Helwani asked Ngannou whether his next fight would be an MMA fight or a boxing fight. Ngannou responded by not shooting down the possibility of an MMA fight, but he still hinted at another go at boxing. This is mainly because Francis Ngannou is not satisfied with the way his fight with AJ ended.

The predator also mentioned that, depending on the time frame, he can also partake in an MMA fight because of his contract with the PFL.

Carl Froch believes Francis Ngannou should leave boxing

The majority of the boxing world did not believe that Ngannou stood a chance against Fury. However, the predator was able to prove them wrong during the “battle of the baddest’. However, Ngannou was not able to deliver an impressive performance against Joshua during their ‘knockout chaos’ fight.

This has led people like Carl Froch to demand that Ngannou leave boxing. As such, the former world champion pointed out how Ngannou’s professional record has included two fights and two defeats. Furthermore, Froch dismissed Ngannou’s performance against Fury and said that he lost against the WBC champion.

Similarly, Froch stated that Ngannou then got knocked out cold by Joshua. The former boxer used these points to conclude that Ngannou should not return to the boxing ring. In addition, Froch stated that The Predator is nearly 40 years old and does not have time to build himself up.
