Francis Ngannou faced Tyson Fury in a highly anticipated fight. The result was a split-decision victory for Tyson Fury in the boxing match. The fight went the distance, and Tyson Fury won the bout by a split decision. It was a close match.
Francis Ngannou walked into this fight as the clear underdog. He was fairly criticized for the clippings of his training and pad work leading up to the fight. However, Ngannou’s coach, Eric Nicksick, had an explanation. In a recent interview on The MMA Hour, he said: “

Francis Ngannou possesses an awe-inspiring punching power that has made history. In 2018, he shattered records when he registered a striking force of 129,161 units on a PowerKube. There is a famous clip where Dana White introduced Ngannou as the record holder for the most powerful punch globally.
White marveled at Ngannou’s strength and described his punches as equivalent to a staggering 96 horsepower. In perspective, it is akin to the force of impact from a Ford Escort racing at top speed. During the fight with Tyson Fury, Ngannou managed to score a knockdown in the third round. It was the only knockdown in the entire fight, making it a memorable moment in the event.
Francis Ngannou wants a rematch with Tyson Fury before returning to MMA
Francis Ngannou is committed to the PFL and has plans for an MMA bout in 2024. However, he has expressed that he wants a rematch with Tyson Fury. Ngannou was the underdog going up to the fight. But he shocked all the naysayers with his stellar performance against the heavyweight champion in his debut fight. And this time, he wants to seal the deal.

Ngannou preferred boxing Tyson before his fight with Oleksandr Usyk. In his own words, Ngannou told TMZ:
The rematch is what I want next the most…If Usyk can step out and let me fight Fury, I’ll fight Fury. Then I’ll let them do whatever they do. I’ll go back, maybe do some MMA fight, and come back and take some people in boxing.Francis Ngannou via TMZ
However, Tyson Fury is locked in for the highly anticipated title fight against Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for February. Nonetheless, Ngannou remained hopeful that he could arrange a Fury rematch before this bout. However, the logistics are uncertain.
