Gennadiy Golovkin issues fierce warning to Canelo Alvarez
After a long wait, fans will finally be able to see the much-anticipated trilogy fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. The fight is going to take place on September 17 inside the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. The duo have a fierce rivalry that started back in 2017 when they fought each other for the middleweight titles.
The fight ended in a controversial draw as many thought that Gennady Golovkin was clearly the winner. One year later, both the fighters clashed again but this time the Mexican won the fight via majority decision.
In the trilogy fight, GGG is looking forward to moving up the weight class and challenging Canelo for the IBF, WBC, WBO, and WBA super middleweight titles. On the other hand, Alvarez is currently trying to recover from his last loss against Dmitry Bivol which took place in May.
In the fight, Alvarez wanted to get the WBA light heavyweight but failed to do so. His upcoming fight with Golovkin will act as a comeback from the loss.

In a recent interview, Gennady Golovkin mocks Alvarez’s opinions on him and reveals that he is ready for the fight.
Golovkin explained that after that loss, Alvarez was angry with Bivol and Golovkin had nothing to do with it. The boxer mentioned that he is ready and training hard in order to take his revenge against Alvarez next month.
“Saul really is angry with Bivol, not with me, but he wants to blame me,” Golovkin told Ernest Amador. “I don’t care about what Canelo says or what he does, the truth is I can only tell you not to underestimate me and that without a doubt the issue of age is just a number, I’m taking this very seriously.”

Golovkin is well aware of his age and the legacy that he has built over the years. The fighter is satisfied with his achievements and knows that he will inspire future generations. According to the Kazakhstani, he is much more popular and loved everywhere in comparison to Canelo.
“I know about my legacy and what I will leave written in boxing It will remain for future generations, but without a doubt when the time comes, I will surely enjoy talking to my grandchildren, if I have them, about what I did and left as a legacy in the ring. Many Mexicans love me and nobody in Kazakhstan loves Canelo,” said Golovkin.
This rivalry is one of the most entertaining one in modern boxing history and the hype around the fight is massive. Both the fighters are equal favourites for the fight and anything is possible in the bout next month.
