Watch: Hasim Rahman Jr misses weight during his “official” weigh-in to persuade Jake Paul that he can make weight
Jake and Hasim will main event at the MSG
Hasim Rahman Jr fails to make weight during his “official” weigh-in in an effort to convince Jake that he can. Paul’s professional boxing record is undefeated after four straight knockouts. Paul turned to YouTube after Vine, a defunct social media platform, to advance his career.
His significance is probably only partially grasped right now. He has issued challenges to fight Conor McGregor, Mike Tyson, and Canelo Alvarez among others. Here is a clip Jake posted to his YouTube channel showcasing his diligent training:
Although Hasim Jr. and Tommy Fury are both more technically proficient fighters than Jake Paul, Tommy’s mobility problems have prevented Jake from outlasting either of them. He hasn’t dropped a game and has defeated some formidable foes. He only become a professional in 2020, but he has already battled many MMA competitors. He has demonstrated promise and made considerable advancements since then.
The Jake Paul fight has been cancelled due to a controversy over Hasim Rahman Jr weight
The August 6 boxing pay-per-view card headlined by Jake and Rahman Jr. has been cancelled due to a weight issue with Rahman, according to Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. The event was scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York. Dana, The UFC president thinks Paul and MVP abandoned the fight after not selling enough tickets to cover costs. Rahman Jr. posted weight of 216.5 pounds on July 7; this is the same weight as he did on July 10, his second weigh-in.
On Friday night, the day before their planned weigh-ins, Rahman Jr. stepped on the scales in an effort to clear his reputation and make a point. In order to prove that he could reach the 205-pound threshold, he made the decision to do his own weigh-ins at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn. Unfortunately for him, his efforts were ineffective. The 31-year-old fighter touched the scales at 206.6 pounds, which was still over the limit, as you can see in the video below.
According to MVP’s statement, Rahman’s Camp alerted Paul’s staff early on Saturday that Rahman intended to check in at 215 pounds on Friday. Paul reportedly agreed to fight at 205 pounds despite Rahman having signed a contract for a 200-pound weight limit. The statement from Rahman’s camp said that if the weight limit was not set at 215 pounds, their boxer would not compete.
