“Forever angels”- Jake Paul offers a heartwarming tribute to victims of the Texas School massacre
Jake Paul sent out his tribute to the victims via twitter
Jake Paul is known to be prone to creating controversy from time to time but as he has stated in earlier interviews, boxing has changed his outlook on life. This may be the reason why a gun-nut like Paul was able to send a heartwarming tribute to the children who tragically passed away in the latest school shooting in the US without any justifications for gun ownership or any other half-hearted statement in the face of such a great tragedy.
The incident took place at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas when an 18-year-old gunman named Salvador Ramos opened fire on teachers and students ranging from the ages of 7-11. The incident took the lives of 19 children and 2 teachers bringing the total death toll to 21. Along with the dead, 17 people including two police officers were also injured in the incident. This incident gained international coverage because of the age of the victims, the first notable instance of a mass shootout in an elementary school since the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012.
It was probably the severity of the incident that lead to Jake Paul being very straightforward with his tribute, including no ifs or buts about gun control or the lack of it unlike some MMA fighters including Sean Strickland.
Jake Paul mentions all victims by name in his tribute to the Texas School Massacre
Jake Paul took the opportunity to make sure everyone or at least the people who follow him make sure to remember the victims’ names so as to not forget their memory or how unfair what happened to the little children was. He took to Twitter calling all the victims, “Forever Angels” and took each of their names, “Amerie, Alithia, Annabelle, Elijah, Ellie, Jackie, Jailah, Jayce, Jose, Layla, Lexi, Maite, Makenna, Miranda, Navaeh, Rojelio, Tess, Uziyah, Xavier” all of these students were from grades 2-4 along with the two teachers, Eva Mireles and Irma Garcia.
These types of school shootings are unique to the US alone as the sum of school shootings from the next 9 countries on the list doesn’t even add up to the total number of such incidents in the US even if they’re multiplied by 9. The reason for this is near-unrestricted access to guns for, anyone, over the age of 18, either through gun retailers or gun shows where the barrier to purchasing is even lower.
