The boxing world is eating out of a silver platter right now! Currently, it has a new prospective mega-fight that just materialized. The legend versus the rising phenom. The ‘Iron Mike‘ with a solid foundation in the boxing sphere versus the ‘Problem Child‘ who took it by fire. Influencer-boxer Jake Paul finally gets to duke it out with the consensus symbolism of boxing – Mike Tyson. Premier Streaming platform Netflix recently announced it, on social media.

Paul last faced 17-3 journeyman, Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico and came out victorious. However, it saw much critique on his opponent not even throwing back shots. Before this he met 10-2-1 seasoned boxer, Andre August, winning via a devastating uppercut KO. His bout being a standard DAZN subscription and not PPV saw further jibes. However, a bout against Mike Tyson would be of a whole other scale.

Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn), the boxing editor for talkSPORT.com, reported on it too, along with Netflix. The 57-year-old legend, Tyson has been quite ardent in advocating Paul’s role as an influencer boxer. He is also very critical of boxers avoiding each other in this convoluted 4-belt era. Hence he once lauded Paul’s ‘hero’ status on the YouTuber doing more for boxing than some current champions.

Conversing with ET’s Kevin Frazier about his Netflix documentary, ‘Untold‘, Paul remained fazed by Mike Tyson’s support. Ever since, the duo have had a hash-off brewing more so. Consequently, Tyson recognizing his talent and duking it out with the pro boxer is sure to do wonders for Paul in the foreseeable future.

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul: A story in the making

Jake Paul might not be considerably the staple of boxing culture just yet. But he does make big moves. Rocking the combat sports bubble by teaming up with USA Boxing for the Paris Olympics 2024 is one. Hooking in the unhinged sensation Sean Strickland into sparring for a $1,000,000 fight purse would be another.

Now he finally gets to face Mike Tyson in a fight of gargantuan proportions. The boxing bout is for Paul’s MVP – Most Valuable Productions promotion house, streaming live on Netflix. It is to take place this July at the renowned AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas.

The duo have shared substantial dialogue before. While Paul can’t help but commend the legend, Tyson thinks his presence is ‘sensational’ as well. Paul has thus been adamant about a mega PPV with the biggest buyouts; Mike Tyson has indulged in this afterthought as well.

Tyson recently wrote, taking to X:

He was the undisputed heavyweight champ, 1987-1990. ‘Iron Mike‘ won his first 19 pro-boxing bouts with KOs (12 in the 1st). At 57, Tyson still boasts some explosive pad work and definitive striking like it was still yesteryear.

The 50-6-1 pro boxer has 44 career knockouts; substantially more than Paul’s 6. However, here’s what peers say about his trend of choosing older guys –

The clash would be an exhibition bout, deemed under the Athletic Commission with MVP as overseer – a million-dollar mega fight that Paul has been promising for a long while now.

That matter has already started garnering momentous traction.
