With Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenko under wraps, it is fair to assume that a lot of people are unhappy with the outcome. Despite entering the bout as an underdog, Lomachenko put pressure on Haney and outworked the undisputed champion. However, the outcome favored Haney as he defended his undisputed title for the second time. Many thought Haney’s win was undeserved. UFC color commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan was one of those many.

In his recent episode of ‘ The Joe Rogan Experience ‘, podcast host Joe Rogan gave his opinions on the controversial result of the bout. Rogan’s opinion was fairly aligned with the general crowd. According to Rogan, Vasiliy Lomachenko lost the bout despite putting on a phenomenal performance.

I think he got robbed, I mean the commentators were trying very hard not to say he got robbed. They were dancing around close rounds and this now but I didn’t see it that way. I felt like Lomachenko won that decision,” said Joe Rogan.

Joe Rogan additionally suggested that he would need to watch the fight a second time and score it himself to avoid any bias. While the scorecard for the bout was in clear favor of Haney, it was met with denial from the crowd in the arena. Many pro boxers and MMA fighters took to their social media handles to condemn the bad judging. Joe Rogan also implied that such is the state of boxing. ” To me, I felt like it was two rounds up for Lomachenko. It’s bad, happens all the time in boxing but it happens in the UFC too,” added Rogan.

Despite the controversial wins, no talks of a rematch have been made yet. Meanwhile, Lomachenko and his team are all set to appeal against the decision.

Vasiliy Lomachenko went head to head against undisputed world champion Devin Haney for the coveted title. While Lomachenko outworked Devin Haney, he lost the title via decision. Devin Haney scored 116-112 and two 115-113 on the judge’s scorecard to retain his undisputed titles. With many fans having Lomachenko for the win, the scorecards were met with boos from the arena.

Featherweight Champion Shakur Stevenson thought Lomachenko had a better performance and should have won the title. Lightweight fighter Ryan Garcia who was also present ringside for the bout, expressed his frustration regarding the robbery. Garcia took to Twitter and posted his verdict for the bout. ” This is what hurts boxing. Loma should have won. I don’t get it, I was there, Loma was landing cleaner shots and finished the fight strong,” posted Garcia on Twitter.

Ryan Garcia himself has contesting experience against Devin Haney. Both fighters are 2-2 in their last four bouts as amateur boxers and in need of a tie-breaker. However, after Garcia’s recent loss against Gervonta Davis, the Haney vs. Garcia fight will take a lot longer to materialize. With no rematch in the talks for Lomachenko, Haney will possibly look forward to new competition.
