Mike Tyson is in the midst of preparing Francis Ngannou for his highly anticipated bout against Tyson Fury. The WBC heavyweight belt will not be on the line for this fight. Nevertheless, the bout will reflect on their boxing records. The match will be held on the 28th of October in the capital of Saudi Arabia. Ngannou will head into the boxing arena for the first time in his career.
John Fury idolized Mike Tyson for his legendary achievements and even named his son after him. Furthermore, both old boxing veterans have met and know each other well. Recently, in an interview with Seconds Out, John talked about his interest in boxing Mike Tyson on the undercard. Subsequently, John Fury said, “I’m old but I’m a fighting man, he’s a fighting man but he’s old. We’re two geriatrics… If he wants to do something, we can do it. I’m not bothered, I’ve been knocked out before.”
The daring nature of the challenge sparked a great deal of interest amongst boxing fans and experts alike. Furthermore, the fact that John named Tyson Fury after the renowned fighter, Iron Mike Tyson, further heightened the intrigue surrounding this potential bout. This was not the first time John had expressed his interest to fight Tyson, and he has stated it many times.
Furthermore, John revealed that he spoke about this with Mike Tyson, who apparently appeared to like the idea. However, if his bout with Tyson doesn’t move forward, John must settle for a ringside seat to witness his son’s crossover fight.
John Fury gets angry and ends the press conference
John Fury went berserk at Wembley Arena, throwing chairs and tables around, after which a whole team of security staff restrained him as he tried to grab KSI.
Logan Paul and Dillon Danis were hurling personal insults at each other, which had already heated up the press conference. Subsequently, Tommy Fury and KSI were going back and forth as they trashed talked. Initially, John tried to end the scuffle by calling it childish and urging everyone to talk business. However, the four fighters continued to hurl insults at each other until John had an outburst of anger.
Furthermore, John stood up and threw the tables off the stage as he started to yell loudly asking them to get the ball rolling. The press conference ended abruptly because a potential riot between the fighters and their camps was about to start.
