After the cancellation of the Hasim Rahman Jr. vs Jake Paul bout scheduled for Aug 6 in MSG. Paul cited Rahman’s inability to make the contractual weight limit as the reason. Hasim had stepped into the fight after Paul’s initial opponent Tommy Fury pulled out of the fight due to Visa issues.
Following the cancellation of the bout by Paul due to Rahman’s inability to make the agreed-upon weight limit. Both fighters got in a blame game in the media. Blaming each other for the fight cancellation. Although, a lot of fans believed low ticket sales as the real reason for the fight cancellation.
Rahman was believed to be the former YouTube’s biggest test yet in the ring. Rahman and the Problem Child also had sparred together before. Unlike his previous opponents, Hasim was a professional boxer with a record of 12-1. Fight fans were eager to see how the Problem Child would fare up against a real ‘boxer’.
This fight would easily have been the biggest fight of the Problem Child‘s carrier. Pauls has previously competed in the states of Florida, Ohio, Georgia and California. However, a stage like Madison Square Garden with an opponent like Rahman would have been the biggest fight the Problem Child has ever competed in.

Saturday, August 6 PPV was supposed to be headlined by Paul vs Hasim boxing match at MSG. Although the bout was called off due to Rahman’s weight issues. Rahman has never fought below 211lbs in his carrier. In order to clear his name and prove the Problem Child as a lair, Rahman planned to weigh in publicly on Friday.
As planned Rahman Jr. decided to host his own weigh-in at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn on Friday. He wanted to prove the Problem Child wrong and showcase his ability to make 205 pounds, which was scheduled to go down Saturday, Aug 6. The fight was initially booked at 200 pounds. Although, later it was shifted to a 205-pound contest over the concerns about Hasim’s weight.
However, the attempt to clear his name only backfired on Hasim as he tipped the scale at 206.6 pounds, which was still over the contractual limit. Rahman later took to his Twitter to react to this weight mishap stating, “206.6. Exposure The 25% purse fines were a post of the contract for a reason. Y’all stay tuned more exposure in a few.”
Rahman further tweeted taking an aim at the former YouTube star, “Never in the history of boxing has someone pulled out a fight a week in advance over weight issues. I tried to tell y’all, “he’s a runner he’s a trackstar”.
Obviously, the Problem Child was quick to react to the weight mishap of Hasim. He took to his Twitter to react to the weight miss by stating Karma is a bitch. The Problem Child tweeted, “HAHAHHAHAHAHA KARMAS A BITCH.”
