YouTube boxer and influencer KSI recently landed in the headlines. This time, it was an egregious statement that received backlash. The British fighter claimed he would beat Floyd Mayweather in a recent episode.
Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is one of the best boxers in the world. When KSI claimed his edge of victory against the 46-year-old fighter, fans were furious. On the podcast, the YouTuber said, “He [Floyd Mayweather] is a good fighter. But, I just think I’ll have the timing on him.” This statement received a lot of sarcastic pushback from members of the ‘Sidemen,’ a group of YouTubers that ‘JJ’ is a part of. However, ‘The Nightmare’ doubled down on this fact.
“I’m not the best boxer in the world. Obviously, in his prime, I would have no chance. I’m not stupid,” said KSI. He proceeded to claim his victory over Floyd Mayweather. This had the other hosts dying of laughter. Although this was a tongue-in-cheek moment from the podcast episode, fans decided to brutally troll KSI on this egregious statement.
From a successful music career to boxing, KSI succeeded in all of it. The YouTube boxer recently took on professional boxer Joe Fournier and emerged victorious. For his next bout, he is set to fight Tommy Fury, who recently beat fellow YouTube boxer, Jake Paul.
Fans roast KSI for his claim of defeating Floyd Mayweather
On a recent podcast episode of ‘Side+,’ KSI said he would beat Floyd Mayweather. Although this was a funny segment on the episode, fans roasted KSI on Twitter. This was another day of controversy for the YouTube fighter. Prior to his career as a fighter, ‘JJ’ used to be a subject of controversy in every sense of the word. This time, it was regarding taking on ‘Money.’ One fan tweeted, “If delusion was a superpower @KSI would be called homelander in that realm.” The tweet was in reference to the popular TV show ‘The Boys.’
Regardless of KSI fighting Floyd Mayweather, the fighter has fought in over five exhibition bouts. Since his retirement, the 46-year-old Mayweather’s interest had also shifted to exhibition bouts. So, fighting the YouTuber would be an entertaining event. Not to mention, the retired fighter took on KSI’s younger brother, Deji, in an exhibition bout not too long ago.
