Popular Youtuber KSI has been gaining popularity as time goes by. The Englishman considers himself a jack of all trades venturing into music, acting as well as boxing. Starting his Youtube channel in 2008, KSI’s popularity has seen no stop sign. The Youtuber is also known for his several controversies and feud with Logan Paul.
In a recent Sidemen channel video, the British rapper is noticed using a ‘racial slur.’ Although the part where he utters the slur was heavily censored, fans immediately figured out the word. This caused outrage on Twitter by fans who considered it offensive. The word KSI used was considered a slur towards people from Pakistan. The fans of Pakistani descent took offense to the usage and went on to hold him accountable for his actions.
In the latest ‘Sidemen Sunday’ video, which has been deleted, KSI uttered the offensive slur. When playing a game of ‘Countdown,’ the Youtuber used the slur to gain ‘points.’ The word was censored and left in the video by the editors. Upon watching the video, fans immediately picked up on the word. The word was considered a slur against people from Pakistan. Rightfully so, fans from Pakistan and other south Asian countries took to Twitter to call ‘JJ’ out.
Fans erupted on Twitter upon hearing the usage of the word by KSI. One user by the name of ‘lcfckini’ clipped the part of the video and said “Nah @ksi you’re not funny man you cannot say “P*ki” in any context.” The user also added “These lot will do anything for content,” referencing the fact that Youtubers are known to do whatever it takes for views.

KSI apologizes on Twitter after backlash for usage of the ‘racial slur’

As of recent, Youtuber KSI faced heavy backlash for his offensive slur usage. Although the usage was not against an individual, the slur is still considered offensive by south Asian people. Upon the usage, fans reacted in disappointment and requested the Youtuber to take accountability for his actions.
The British Youtuber took to Twitter to give an apology to the fans who were offended. Seemingly, KSI felt deep regret upon the word usage and feels sorry for his fans from south asia. The Youtuber tweeted “I wanna apologise for saying a racial slur in a recent Sidemen video. There’s no excuse, no matter the circumstances, I shouldn’t have said it and I’m sorry.” “Im not perfect, I’m gonna mess up in life, and lately I’ve been messing up a lot,” added KSI.

He said, “I’ve decided I’m gonna just take a break from social media for a while.“JJ has been held accountable by his fans through this online discourse. The fighter has now been shuffling between content creation, music making, and also boxing career.
