Logan Paul and Jake Paul are big names in the influencer boxing scene. “The Maverick” will make his comeback in the ring against Dillon Danis in Manchester at Misfits Boxing’s ‘Prime Card.’ Logan Paul has not competed in a boxing ring since his eight-round bout with boxing icon Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout more than two years ago. Similarly, Danis is making his return to combat sports after a hiatus of four years.
The main event will feature Paul’s business partner and fellow YouTube star, KSI, and British professional boxer Tommy Fury. Logan’s brother, Jake Paul, has a bitter grudge against KSI, which Jake has been vocal about several times. In the realm of influencer boxing, in an interview at The MMA Hour, Logan stated that his brother might not attend his event in Manchester because of safety concerns. Furthermore, Logan said, “We’re working on it. He’s worried about the environment, he thinks it will be kind of hostile.”
Jake is widely regarded as one of the most famous and successful figures in influencer boxing. Similarly, Jake and KSI have had beef with each other since 2018 and have discussed fighting each other. Hence, KSI’s immense fan base inherently dislikes Jake, even though they never fought inside a boxing ring. KSI is a British native and has a huge fanbase. It might become dangerous for Jake.
Furthermore, Jake fought Tommy in February 2023, losing the match via split decision. Subsequently, Jake does not feel safe coming to an event where both Tommy and KSI’s fans will be present. However, Logan stated he was working on it since he wanted his brother to attend the event.
Jake Paul reveals why he hasn’t fought KSI
Since 2018, fans have waited for a fight between KSI and Paul. Furthermore, although both parties agreed to the match, it did not materialize, and they might never fight. The reason for this is speculated to be Paul’s new MMA contract, which complicates the situation.
In addition, their weight was another factor that caused a great hindrance for their fight to materialize. In an episode of the Full Send Podcast, Jake revealed what caused his fight with KSI to never materialize. Subsequently, Jake stated that KSI weighed 175 lbs, while he weighed 185 lbs. Hence, negotiations about the weight were difficult between the two, and the fight did not take place.
Furthermore, KSI wanted to include a rehydration clause in the contract limiting water intake for Jake. Hence, Jake felt that KSI did not want to fight him and hid behind the weight dispute to avoid him. However, most fans felt that Jake was avoiding fighting KSI after building up the hype. There are two sides to a story and this was Jake’s side.
