Floyd Mayweather comes to mind when you think of consensus legends in pro boxing in the intermediate era. Meanwhile, when thinking of influencer boxing, brothers Jake Paul and Logan Paul come to mind. Logan has already scrapped with ‘The Money’ before.

Consequently, the other brother isn’t without his merit either. The YouTuber-turned-boxer, with a 9-1 (6KOs), currently stands with the aim of becoming a champion one day. He has often voiced wanting to steal Mayweather’s undefeated crown, but he didn’t stop there. Here’s what his brother says about his hat-stealing stunt:

The current WWE star has problems with Mayweather after going the distance in June 2021 on an 85-15 fight purse split. However, in the lead-up to their exhibition match, he felt ‘Problem Child’ had jeopardized his standing with the opponent-to-be. Concurrently, sure enough, Mayweather’s crew jumped the younger Paul brother at the Miami-Dade arena. Some have said the incident was scripted.

Barring his viral ‘Gotcha Hat’ stunt, Paul might also be subject to Floyd Mayweather’s verdict on the issue of his next match. He rocked the combat sports bubble with news of facing Boxing HOF recipient Mike Tyson. They face off at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for an exhibition match.

What happened between Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul?

When Logan Paul signed for an exhibition fight with boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather, his brother attended all media scrums. One such pre-fight press conference saw Jake Paul pull a stunt. Instead of a supporting demeanor, Paul had other intentions.

Momentarily before the face-to-face, Jake Paul filmed a TikTok segment and whispered about stealing Floyd’s hat/cap. Once Mayweather and Logan had separated to either side for media interviews and Q&A sessions. Paul took the opportune moment to brashly stomp Floyd Mayweather’s progress. Exchanging a few trash-talking moments, he enacted his infamous ‘Gotcha Hat,’ trying to sprint away.

However, the influencer boxer did not manage to go far. While spectators of the boxing community thought of it as a PR stunt, it proved otherwise. Mayweather choked the squabbling ‘Problem Child,’ with a brawl breaking out soon after.

Mayweather later stormed off, visibly cussing at the agitator. To this day, Paul has had a security escort at all times since that moment. Boasting high-paying crossover stints with Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren, Paul now moves on to boxers. He defeated 17-3 journeymen and amateur Ryan Bourland last. If Paul faces Mike Tyson next, one could assume with the right money, he could Mayweather as well.
