Mike Tyson decided to become a coach to prepare Francis Ngannou for his boxing debut. The bout will take place on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. Mike Tyson has high hopes for Ngannou for his boxing debut.
Tyson believes Ngannou has a chance against Tyson Fury in what will be billed as “The Battle of the Baddest.” In an interview with Eurosport, Tyson said, “He’s a real power puncher, really fast for a big guy at 260. I think he’s going to do better than most people believe”. Subsequently, Tyson stated, “He needs to try to get close. If he does get close, I know it’s boxing, but use his wrestling strength to rough him up a bit”.
Furthermore, he stated that if he got close enough, Ngannou only had to land a few shots on Fury. However, the thickness in terms of ounces between boxing and MMA gloves is different and might affect Ngannou’s power. Fury hasn’t fought since December of last year when he knocked out and won a trilogy fight against Derek Chisora.
In addition, they attempted to secure other potential opponents such as Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua, Zhilei Zhang, and Andy Ruiz. However, for various reasons, none of these opponents accepted the deal.
Tyson Fury comments about Mike Tyson training Francis Ngannou

John Fury named his son Tyson after the former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson because of his legacy. In a recent interview, the interviewer asked Fury about his thoughts on training Ngannou for their upcoming match.
Fury said he was sad to be in the opposing corner of the man he was named after. Fury said Ngannou would lose to him, it would be more depressing, and he felt Tyson should have trained him. However, Fury understands that business is business and does not take any of this personally.
Subsequently, Fury mentioned that he has much more at stake, though his WBC belt is not on the line. If he loses to Ngannou, Fury believes he won’t be able to show his face. Can Ngannou shock the world by defeating Fury? Only time will tell.
