Mike Tyson has been a proud Muslim in the past and has overcome many struggles being a man of this religion and color in the USA. But Tyson doesn’t seem interested in explaining his stance extensively concerning women wearing burqas.

The boxing legend was invited onto the ‘Club Random Podcast.’ This show, hosted by famous political comedian Bill Maher introduced the topic of Islam and Islamic countries in Mike Tyson‘s presence. The comedian explains how most of these countries force other non-muslims to believe that Islam is the only religion and that he believes that they lack an elevated point of view. The topic of women being forced to wear Burqas was also brought up. Tyson attempts to explain that the purpose behind such attire is the modesty of a woman. But Bill Maher refutes it, stating, “No woman wants to wear that. That’s not modest. That’s pathological!

Although Mike Tyson converted to Islam while in a prison cell in 1992, the fighter has consistently promoted the religion and its opinions throughout the decades. But Tyson is also heavily criticized for being a “fake Muslim” who does not sincerely follow its principles. His face tattoo, troubles with the law, and drugs are all factors that account for such criticism.

Whether Mike Tyson follows Islam wholeheartedly or not is debatable. But the fighter promoting religion with reasonable beliefs through his words does reach out to millions who need a power above to console them.
