Mike Tyson is one of the most popular names in boxing. He was also one of the most feared men in the ring. However, Tyson too was bullied at one point in his life. A video of him talking about how boxing helped him overcome his fear of bullies is going viral on social media. Here is what happened:
A video of Mike Tyson’s interview is making its rounds on social media. It is a video edit of a clip of Mike Tyson‘s interview. This was after he retired from professional boxing. Tyson revealed how he never had to worry about bullies again. He said:

Mike Tyson experienced bullying during his childhood in Brooklyn’s Brownsville area due to his lisp, glasses, and chubby figure. Tyson faced bullying on his way home when he was seven. It was an incident that he still feels affects him deeply. He recounted this experience and admitted that he felt like a coward. However, Tyson confronted his childhood bully in later years, showing he had not forgotten the torment.
Legendary trainer, Cus D’Amato, took Mike Tyson in at the age of thirteen. He honed Tyson’s skills and instilled confidence in him. Under D’Amato’s guidance, Mike Tyson underwent intense training, making him one of the most fearsome opponents in heavyweight boxing.
Mike Tyson beat up a man harassing him on a plane
Mike Tyson punched a man who harassed him on a plane while preparing to board a flight from San Francisco to Florida. The incident was caught on camera and showed Tyson punching a passenger who had been bothering him.
UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, commented on the incident during an episode of his podcast. Rogan said that the passenger was unwise for harassing Tyson. He also said that Tyson was justified in defending himself.
Tyson was not charged with any crimes. The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office closed the case and decided not to pursue charges against Tyson based on the circumstances surrounding the incident. However, Melvin Townsend, the man who was punched by Mike Tyson on a plane sued Tyson for $450,000. Tyson’s lawyers however argued that Tyson would not yield to any such demands.
