There’s no denying that Mike Tyson’s life has been full of ups and downs. The things he’s gone through can sometimes feel like too much to handle in one lifetime. From living in the dangerous streets of the Bronx in Brooklyn, New York, to becoming the youngest heavyweight champion at 20. Furthermore, one bizarre occurrence in Tyson’s life was when he encountered a serial killer unknowingly.

In an interview on the PBD podcast with Patrick Bet-David, Tyson shared his uncanny and unexpected encounter. Tyson stated that he was in Phoenix, Arizona, and was working out, but then the month of Ramadan arrived. Subsequently, during this time, Mike Tyson was not working out but was conducting interviews. As such, one was with a white male boxing journalist.

Tyson described the man as small, frail, and timid. Iron Mike personally stopped other people from picking at him. The former champion stated that the journalist was soft-spoken, a big fan, and even took a picture with him.

After a few days, Tyson was surrounded by a massive SWAT team at his gym while working out. At that moment, Tyson was caught off guard and was wondering why they were there. Subsequently, they took out a picture of Tyson shaking the hand of the timid white boxing journalist.

Tyson apologized if he scared the man, but the authorities revealed that the man was a serial killer. His name was Dale Hausner, and he killed 8 people and was later arrested in 2006.

Hausner was later caught in 2006 and sentenced to death, but he committed suicide before that. Tyson remains shocked by this encounter and never expected it to turn out this way. Subsequently, fans reacted to this story by stating, “Mike would have beaten him up if he knew.”
