Nate Diaz appears to believe that he could defeat heavyweight boxing megastars, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Given that it’s in a “real fight.” Diaz is considerably one of the biggest stars in combat sports history. He was one of the mainstays in UFC from 2007 to 2022. Most notably, the Stockton-born fighter won the TUF Season 5 lightweight competition. As of late, he has been urging his trilogy bout with Conor McGregor for UFC 300 to take shape.
Meanwhile, Fury is boxing’s lineal and reigning WBC heavyweight champ. Joshua too is a former unified heavyweight champion, currently riding up to the glory yet again. Following his exit in 2022, Diaz, (21-13 MMA) is 0-1, with a decision loss to Jake Paul in crossover boxing. However, he thinks he can overcome ‘The Gypsy King’ or ‘AJ’ in an MMA bout rather than boxing. He said –
I'll f**k up Tyson Fury. I'll f**k up Anthony Joshua. All these motherf**kers in a real fight, like, they really don't stand a chance.Nate Diaz via Sneako

This was in conversation with social media influencer Sneako. Concurrently, the duo recently went viral when Diaz used a gay slur to insult 27-year-old Mikey Musumeci during a collaboration with the controversial streamer. Sneako has an ongoing feud with the American submission grappler and prominent BJJ practitioner. Musumeci had recently called out the controversial streamer for an MMA bout on issues of bullying.
Diaz’s characteristic slurs on the current ONE Championship flyweight submission grappling titleholder turned many heads. Similarly, so is this expected to. The Ex-UFC lightweight/welterweight has always maintained that MMA is closer to a street brawl than boxing, which he doubles down on with his warring words.
Is a boxing face-off with Jorge Masvidal on the horizon for Nate Diaz?
UFC veteran turned free agent, Nate Diaz, recently transitioned to boxing. In his pro-boxing debut outing, he lost against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in August 2023. The fighter recently doused fighting words at boxing’s heavyweight behemoths, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. So it makes one wonder – would he be up for another boxing bout?

Currently, lineal and WBC heavyweight king Tyson Fury is to face WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, and The Ring champ, Oleksandr Usyk. The postponed Fury-Usyk showdown would determine boxing’s new undisputed titleholder, on May 18, 2024.
Meantime, Anthony Joshua will face former UFC champ, Francis Ngannou a week earlier.
Much like Ngannou, Diaz’s second boxing venture is something that immensely interests fight fans; given his maiden bout didn’t go well. The MMA Hour’s Ariel Helwani had reported that Nate Diaz, who lost to “Gamebred” in a November 2019 clash, could box later this year. Meanwhile, in a recent Inside Fighting interview, Jorge Masvidal didn’t confirm that he would fight Diaz next.
However, the inaugural “BMF” did nudge that he’d KO Diaz if they ever met again. Only time will tell if that takes fruition and Masvidal’s prediction holds.
