Ryan Garcia responded to Devin Haney’s allegations recently. Haney alleged Ryan planned an exit strategy ahead of their highly anticipated fight. After months of talks and speculation, Haney will fight Garcia. Subsequently, they will fight for the WBC super-lightweight champion title on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The selected venue has become a problem for Garcia.

As such, the two fighters had a fall-out over the venue on social media during their trash-talking. Furthermore, Ryan Garcia wrote on social media that his team worked hard to make the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. However, Haney accused Garcia of trying to escape or avoid their upcoming mega-fight. This is how Garcia responded:

Why are you trying to paint that picture to the public, towards the guy who is making you more money in your life and in your entire career- Sad to see. That is real h*e behavior which you learned from your dad.

Devin Haney accused Ryan Garcia of avoiding the fight by trying to change the venue. However, Garcia denied this statement. Furthermore, Garcia fired back at Haney. He claimed Garcia vs. Haney remains the biggest fight of Haney’s career. It has the potential to become a high-profile boxing bout in recent memory.

In addition, Haney called Garcia’s attempt to avoid the fight ‘h*e behavior,’ Garcia stated that Haney’s ungrateful nature was the h*e behavior he learned from Bill Haney. Haney said the fight would happen in New York because it won’t affect ticket sales for the May 4th Canelo Alvarez fight in Las Vegas.

Dan Rafael reveals the reason behind Garcia vs. Haney venue

Eddie Hearn recently told FightHype in an exclusive interview that Alvarez’s plan to fight in Las Vegas on May 5th impacted Garcia’s fight with Haney. Furthermore, Hearn stated that moving the fight to New York City was a great decision. Hearn justified this statement since Canelo Alvarez would fight in Las Vegas two weeks later.

Hence, it made sense to have Garcia and Haney compete in Brooklyn. The city has a great fan base. Similarly, Dan Rafael spoke about this while retweeting Haney’s reason for why the fight won’t happen in Las Vegas.

Rafael said the boxing host and promoter had a “blackout period” before a major event. In addition, this was done because they didn’t want someone else taking over their venue and affecting ticket sales. Hence, Rafael stated that the chances of the Garcia and Haney fight in Las Vegas remain highly unlikely.
