After the match ended Kambosos was giving an interview when he spotted former featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson.

George Kambosos went up to Stevenson and spoke to him about the fight. Stevenson told the champ that he believed that the fight should have gone Hughes’ way and that it was his opinion. Kambosos also explains further that for his last four fight’s he has only fought top 10 contenders and should be given respect. Stevenson then says “If they don’t fight me, we can make it happen (Stevenson vs Kambosos). I will beat the shit out of him”. Stevenson had some banter with Kambosos’ head coach during which he flexed his abs to prove that he is in shape.

Kambosos was the aggressor for most of the fight, landing more punches and controlling the tempo. Hughes was able to land some good shots, but he was not able to consistently get past Kambosos’s defense. In the end, Kambosos’s experience and power proved to be too much for Hughes. The Australian champion recently lost to Devin Haney losing his titles, he is now on his way back to fight for the belts.
