Shakur Stevenson is set to take on Edwin de Los Santos on November 16, and they will be fighting for the vacant WBC. Stevenson is ready to take on the challenge, but with great challenges comes great responsibility. Furthermore, with big challenges come big sacrifices, and athletes are often separated from their families during their training.
Stevenson expressed his affection for his daughter on X as he prepared for his training camp. Stevenson posted, “Gone miss my daughter like crazy; hopefully she understands one day about the work I had to put in for us. I got you a 4L baby girl; it’s work time now.” The tweet reminds us of the pain and suffering that come with being an athlete. However, Stevenson said, it’s time to show up, so he needs to be ready.
Shakur has been in the news a lot lately because of his fight confirmation issues. He’s had a run-in with two fighters, one being Devin Haney and the other being Frank Martin. According to Shakur, Haney’s team called off the fight due to botched purse negotiations. Martin also pulled out of a bout with him. He accused him of asking for a split of the purse.
Shakur Stevenson and Edwin de los Santos will square off in Las Vegas on November 16, 2023. They will fight for the WBC lightweight championship. Stevenson has an impressive record of 20-0 and 10 knockouts, while De Los Santos is 16-1 and has 14 knockouts.
Shakur Stevenson reveals why he won’t fight Gervonta Davis
After Gervonta Davis defeated Ryan Garcia, the boxing world elevated him to new heights of stardom. Subsequently, fans were eager to get their hands on a chance to see Stevenson take on Davis.
In an interview with Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Shakur Stevenson revealed why he hasn’t called out Davis yet.
