Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest pound-for-pound boxers to emerge from the sport of boxing. Furthermore, his legacy in the sport is cemented because of his achievements and undefeated record. Subsequently, Mayweather is a student of boxing and has mastered his craft long before having a successful career. As such, Mayweather revealed his personal top 5 greatest boxers of all time, and the list is quite interesting and unorthodox.
Typically, fighters like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and Sugar Ray Leonard are included in any list relating to top boxers. However, on Mayweather’s list, he is the number-one best boxer of all time because of his record and achievements. Furthermore, Mayweather justified this by stating that he has fought the most number of champions in the shortest duration. Surprisingly, Mayweather added Ali to the fifth spot and stated:

Hence, Mayweather justified keeping Ali at the last spot on the list because he only fell in one weight class. However, Mayweather mentioned Ali’s impact on the representation of African-American rights and his legacy. In addition, Mayweather added the legendary Roberto Duran to the list in second place.
Subsequently, in third place, Mayweather added American, Pernell Whitaker. As such, Mayweather added Julio Cesar Chavez in fourth place, as Chavez is widely regarded as one of the best Mexican boxers to enter the sport.
Floyd Mayweather’s uncle speaks about Roberto Duran
Since Mayweather is well known for proclaiming that he is TBE in boxing, it was not surprising to see him on the first page of the list. However, Mayweather’s acknowledgment of Duran was interesting since his uncle, Roger Mayweather has also spoken about Duran. As such, Duran is known for being the greatest pound-for-pound fighter who had hands of stones.
Furthermore, he was mainly known for his in-fighting and how he would slip and counter punches in close range. Hence, this reflects on his incredible skills in terms of close-range offense and defense. Subsequently, while speaking about Duran, Roger stated that he was the best in the sport and remained the best in several eras of boxing.
In addition, Duran won world titles in four different weight classes during his career. Hence, he was able to showcase his versatility and skill across various weight divisions. As such, Duran was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2007, solidifying his status as one of the greatest boxers of all time.
