In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Terence Crawford opened up about his mother to Joe Rogan. He described how she mixed her love for him with nefarious intent to create a champion. She wanted Crawford to go down in boxing history as a legend, which became the sole objective of her actions.

Bud’s mother, Debbie Crawford, took a different parenting approach than others. She was gentle with her son but never complimented him on his boxing skills. This subsequently filled Bud with the anger and desire to do better and prove his mother wrong for her approval. Before Crawford’s fights, his mother would tell him that he wouldn’t win, but Bud always won. After winning, she would be proud of him and take pictures with the belt. However, when they were alone, she would tell him, “You still ain’t sh**!”.

Furthermore, she also bribed the neighborhood kids to compete with Crawford. She would offer the kids $5 if they won, but Bud always beat them in a fight. However, looking back on it, Crawford could see how her actions molded him into the champion he became.

Bud said she was tough on him, but he loved his mom as his life depended on it. Furthermore, she tried pushing him to be the best because she knew her son was competitive. People were always smoking and drinking in his neighborhood, but Bud never drank or smoked.

The sudden emergence of a short video clip has taken the boxing world by surprise. The video showed world-renowned boxer Terence Crawford sparring with his mother, Debra Crawford. The two of them appear to be in their backyard without gloves or protective gear.  

The Crawford family has employed playful yet rigorous training methods since Bud’s childhood. Bud’s stance is orthodox, while his mother adopts the southpaw position. As the two collide, it’s clear that the Crawford family has a lot of fighting spirit. As Terence tried to close the gap, Debra launched an inside low kick, showing her willingness to try new things.

The biggest surprise, however, came when Terence Crawford used a feint right hand, which quickly morphed into a takedown attempt. The unconventional video is a great example of how the Crawfords have a strong bond and love for boxing and combat sports.
