There is some considerable bad blood between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, which was seen at the ‘Knockout Chaos’ press conference. They first clashed in the ring in October 2023 during the ‘Battle of the Baddest’ crossover fight. Furthermore, ahead of the fight, people believed that Fury would be able to win against Ngannou without breaking a sweat. However, this notion was later proved wrong after Ngannou’s stellar professional debut performance.
Subsequently, even after this, Fury won the fight via a controversial split decision. Furthermore, Ngannou and boxing fans stated that he was robbed and that he won the fight. Similarly, Francis Ngannou stated this during the press conference for the Anthony Joshua fight, where Fury was among the audience. This led to a back and forth between them, and Ngannou issued a bold warning to Fury about not getting on his bad side.
As such, Fury has now addressed the incident and stated:
I think I'll smash his face-in, in a cage!Tyson Fury told in an interview with DAZN Boxing
During the press conference, Ngannou stated that the rules of boxing protect Fury from getting destroyed. Hence, this prompted Fury to defend his honor by stating that he would defeat Ngannou inside an octagon. Furthermore, Fury stated that he is rooting for Joshua to give Ngannou a beatdown on March 8.
However, even if Joshua was unable to do this, Fury stated that he would deal with Ngannou himself after defeating Oleksandr Usyk. Subsequently, Fury stated that, after his rematch with Ngannou, he is willing to fight Ngannou inside the octagon. Fury proclaimed this bold statement because of Ngannou’s comments about boxing protecting Fury.
Francis Ngannou shares his prediction for the fight
Ngannou is set for his highly anticipated fight with two-time former world champion Joshua. Many people expect the fight to be explosive since both fighters are hard-hitting knockout artists. Furthermore, both fighters appeared ready and focused during the pre-fight press conference and public workouts. Many people have observed that Ngannou’s boxing style has improved significantly since his professional debut.
As such, Ngannou was interviewed by Radio Rahim after his public workout to talk about Ngannou’s fight. Furthermore, he asked Ngannou if he believed the fight would be easier compared to the Fury fight. This was mainly asked because Ngannou flaunted several boxing combinations and body shots during the public workout.
However, Ngannou dismissed this notion and revealed that he was missing the element of surprise in his second fight. Hence, even though Ngannou has trained properly, he believes that he cannot catch Joshua off-guard.
