Francis Ngannou has officially earned a spot in the Top 10 WBC heavyweight ranking after his fight with Tyson Fury.

Francis Ngannou stunned the boxing world with his unexpected performance against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Before the match, Ngannou was regarded as the underdog since it was his professional boxing debut. However, Ngannou fought ferociously, stood his ground against Fury, and knocked him down once in the third round. However, Ngannou could not convince the judges to give him a win and lost the match via a split decision.
The boxing community was extremely enraged after this controversial decision and deemed the result a robbery because of boxing’s corruption. However, Ngannou’s performance against Fury officially added him to the number 10 spot in the WBC heavyweight ranking. Subsequently, Fury’s next opponent is set to be a heavyweight unification bout against Oleksandr Usyk. The fight was expected to be on December 23 but has been postponed due to the damage Fury endured while fighting Ngannou.

Ngannou entered the boxing world as a storm, which shocked fans and experts after his performance against Fury. While most people had assumed that the fight would be an easy payday for the undefeated WBC champion, after the fight, Fury himself commented on how Ngannou was one of his toughest opponents.
In addition, during the post-fight interview, Ngannou’s trainer, Dewey Cooper, predicted his pupil’s chances of achieving a place in the WBC’s top 10. Subsequently, this was after Cooper had a conversation with WBC President Mauricio Sulaimano.
