“Doesn’t get any darker than committing suicide”- Tyson Fury recalls his days of struggling with Suicidal thoughts

Tyson Fury is arguably one of the best heavyweight boxers in recent history. He has beaten numerable world champions who are pioneers themselves. In addition to his boxing achievements, he’s managed to overcome some major setbacks and personal battles with depression, alcoholism, and drugs to mount his comeback.

This inspired the world and he has transcended his legacy. After achieving his goals and dreams, Tyson went into a state of depression, he even expressed the same on ‘The Joe Rogan experience’, where he stated, I didn’t want to live anymore, I had everything a man could want, there wasn’t nothing I didn’t have, but it meant nothing, nothing meant to me, and I felt worthless, the longer it went on, the more it hurt inside, and it was hurting everybody.”

After defeating Dillian Whyte which is proclaimed to be his last professional bout, he stated in the post-fight conference, “Doesn’t get any darker than committing suicide and I was there. To come back and to lose all that weight and get back mentally. You should never let anybody crush your dreams because anything is possible and I’m proof that that is true.”

These words of wisdom are something everyone should look upon especially from a role model like Tyson who has been through hardships and overcomes them in an emphatic fashion. Tyson Fury has retired from the sport of boxing or at least the claims he has. His career has been nothing short of magnificent and his name will forever be etched in the history of the sport.
