Nico Ali Walsh is a professional boxer and grandson of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. He recently spent some time with another legend of the sport, Mike Tyson. Here is what happened:

The video of Tyson and Nico’s interaction is making its rounds on the internet. One of the clips showed Tyson introducing and showing his many pigeons to Nico. Mike Tyson has loved pigeons since he was nine years old. He said they were an escape from the bullying he had to go through as a child for being overweight. There is a story of how a bully snapped one of Tyson’s pet pigeons’ necks and beat him up. This incident led to Tyson fighting the bully, which eventually led him to the boxing ring.

Twenty-three-year-old Nico Ali Walsh made his professional debut in August 2021 wearing his grandfather’s white Everlast shorts. In 2022, he was named the WBC Prospect of the Year. He currently has a record of 8 wins and 1 loss, and five knockouts to his name.

Tyson idolized Ali and learned a lot from watching him fight. Ali also liked Tyson, and the two became better acquainted when Tyson lived with his mentor, Cus D’Amato. Tyson would get emotional when talking about Ali, both in terms of who he was and his ability as a boxer. It is interesting to see him now spend time with his grandson who is also walking in his grandfather’s footsteps.
