Deontay Wilder had a 32-0 undefeated record before challenging the former heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne. Subsequently, Wilder entered Facebook with the goal of getting 5,000 likes before his WBC heavyweight title fight against Stiverne.

Deontay Wilder said he would fight a fan if he gained 5,000 followers on Facebook, which excited several people. Furthermore, Wilder’s fans flocked to watch him in the hope of seeing Wilder fight a regular person. On his Facebook page, Wilder posted a video saying, “This is Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder. I just want to thank my fans for getting me up to 5,000 fans on Facebook. Now, as promised, I’m going to fight a fan,” he said while standing outside in boxing gloves.”

After hitting his mark, Wilder kept his promise to fight a fan. But some people were a bit let down when he had to fight an electronic fan and not a real person. Wilder then viciously smashed a fan to the ground with a single punch and posted the footage on social media. Subsequently, he became a world champion after defeating Stiverne in a 12-round bout in 2015.

Wilder initially suffered the first draw in his boxing career against Fury, who proved to be his most formidable opponent. Furthermore, Wilder lost his next two fights against Fury, who knocked him out with great skill. The two losses impacted Wilder’s career and mentality immensely, and he did not return to the ring for a year. However, Wilder returned with a bang after securing his victory with a knockout against Robert Helenius.

Before the fight, Wilder stated that he wanted to fight until at least 2025, which is when he’ll be 40. Before his retirement, Wilder wants to fight against some of the best boxers in the heavyweight division.
