The beef between 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather was no less than a soap opera. The rapper and boxer were once inseparable buddies but things started going south due to some monetary matters between the two.
In 2012 Floyd Mayweather served 2 months in Jail and the Rapper was given the task of handling Floyd‘s promotion team “Team money”. However, Floyd refused to pay his share of the money to 50 Cent which led to the deterioration of their friendship. In 2014, 50 cent posted a series of videos to troll his former friend. The rapper first used the ALS ice bucket challenge to mock the boxer. He said, “if you (Floyd) can read one full page of the harry potter book nigga I will give 750000 to whatever charitable organisations you want to.”
A few days later, the rapper continued to mock Mayweather on Instagram with a second video. This time, he claimed that talk show host Jimmy Kimmel had agreed to broadcast Mayweather reading on his show and that it would be something easier to read than a Harry Potter book.
In response, Mayweather posted two checks worth more than 72 million dollars on his Twitter account. A few days later even an audio tape from a radio show got leaked where Mayweather was struggling to read. Whether he can read or not there is no denying the success he has found and the talent he possesses inside the Boxing ring.
How did 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather’s feud come to an end?
The decade-long feud between Floyd Mayweather and 50 cent came to an end in 2022. According to reports it all started with Floyd Mayweather attending a Mo’Nique performance during Super Bowl weekend. During her performance, MoMo’Nique performed a 10-minute skit about the beef between Floyd and 50 Cent.
This was apparently what changed the boxer’s mind and he wanted to fix his friendship with his old pal. He immediately called his old buddy and said, “Yo, why it take so long for you to pull up on me fam”.
Even the rapper made it public during his appearance at the breakfast club in August of 2022 that the two were back on good terms. Maybe they could have fixed their friendship long ago if the two kept their ego aside and set down to talk.
