Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was revered to be one of the scariest people during his prime. Not many wanted to enter the ring and get their heads knocked off their body by Iron Mike. With his reputation, Tyson was an intimidating character for the general crowd. Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx, who was working to portray Tyson in his biopic, narrated how terrified he was when Iron Mike attended one of his standup shows.

During his interview on the Full Send podcast, Jamie Foxx talked about his early days as a standup comedian. The now-famous actor would do standup comedy in clubs with a sizeable representation of Black individuals. One of those clubs was also frequented by many stars during the late 80s era. Foxx exclaimed that he had a great time doing comedy bits at that club until he got to his Mike Tyson joke. No member of the audience laughed at his joke as Mike Tyson himself was in attendance that day. Jamie Foxx revealed he was terrified of the situation he had found himself in. “This is when the motherf***er was knocking people out for smiling wrong, ” said Foxx.

Jamie was then informed by one of Mike’s associates to move forward with the joke. However, he also warned Foxx that his joke better be funny. Foxx managed to make it through the joke and received a standing ovation from the crowd. Mike Tyson himself found the bit hilarious and appreciated Foxx for his impeccable impersonation. “There he is you crazy motherf***er, come with me, get in the car,” said Iron Mike to Jamie Foxx.

Ever since then, Jamie Foxx became good friends with Mike Tyson. Foxx was also rumored to portray Tyson in his upcoming biopic. However, the project was scrapped, as Tyson did not want Jamie Foxx to portray a younger version of himself.

Hollywood actor and superstar Jamie Foxx was in preparation to play the role of boxing legend Mike Tyson for his latest project. However, Iron Mike himself felt that Foxx was too old to play a young version of himself. Instead, Tyson wanted someone with an athletic background to take up the role.

” Mike has been telling people, Jamie is no longer going to be playing him. They are friends apparently, but somehow the whole proposal of Jamie starting off as 20-something Mike is not going to work,” reported by Daily Star. However, after ditching Foxx, Tyson has a new idea for the narration of his story. On his podcast, Hotboxin with Mike Tyson, the retired boxer revealed he wanted to tell his story in animated form. “I was telling my wife we should tell my story in cartoon form,” stated Iron Mike on his podcast.

While the idea of opting for a cartoon show is slightly unexpected, it is not completely new for Tyson. Along with his cameos in Hollywood movies, Iron Mike made a brief appearance in the animated T.V. show Family Guy as well. He also had his own animated detective series called Mike Tyson Mysteries. With Mike’s latest idea, it is only a matter of time before someone takes up the task to animate Tyson’s life for the big screen.
