Ryan Garcia is open to fight Gervonta Davis later this year after winning his upcoming fight. Davis recently went against Rolando Romero at Barclays Center, New York City and came out victorious. The champion dropped Romero in the sixth round and retained his WBA (Regular) lightweight title. Now, fight fans have set their eyes on the potential fight between Davis and Garcia, talks of which have been around since a year.

A year ago, during the Hotboxing with Mike Tyson podcast, Garcia and Davis verbally agreed to the fight. Garcia was there as a guest and ‘ Tank’ joined him through a video call which Tyson did. The interaction between these two young fighters was exciting and hyped. Garcia said :

“Two rounds, baby, two rounds” Garcia emphasized to Tank, not backing down from his early knockout prediction. “Two rounds, you going to sleep. It’s not gonna hurt. I promise you it’s not gonna hurt.”

After being called out, Davis replied back by accepting the challenge. He said :

“We fighting next! We fighting next!”

It was a great moment hosted by non-other than the legend Tyson himself which got the hopes higher of the boxing fans.

Ryan Garcia wants Gervonta Davis to wait till December for a fight

After Davis’ win over Rolando Romero, Ryan Garcia took to Twitter in order to send an ultimatum to Davis.

In the tweet, Ryan Garcia explained that he will first like to finish his next fight in July and after that he and Davis can go. Garcia revealed that Davis will get his chance in December and he should be ready for it. He wrote :

“Let me handle business July 16th I’m going to get tank, he was screaming the whole fight I’m next so let it be.. December let’s get it #TankRolly.”

In April, Garcia returned from a long 15 months hiatus and defeated Emmanuel Tagoe by a dominating unanimous decision win. Gracia is now saying that he is going to fight on July 16 but there is no information about his next opponent.

Anyways, Davis and Ryan Garcia are two of the most popular names in the current boxing scenario and their fight will most probably be a huge event. It has the potential to be a major Pay-per-view event in recent years.
