The most anticipated re-match between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz was announced recently. The two first fought at the UFC in 2019 and are now to clash heads in a ten-round boxing battle. Ahead of their fight, Masvidal ignited the beef between them and warned Diaz.
In his recent appearance on the MMA Hour Show, Masvidal detailed his malicious intent to fight Nate Diaz. He stated he had been training and would be in tip-top shape come fight night. As such, he warned the Stockton legend and advised him to come ready for a war. Although ‘Gamebred’ wanted to ‘murder’ Diaz, he stated it was nothing personal.
I’ve been training because I want to murder this guy. And there’s nothing personal with him, but I want to beat the fu****g breaks off him…I’m going to be in the best shape of my life. He knows that if he’s not in shape, I’ll make him look bad and I’ll get him out of there in two rounds…I’m trying to kill this motherf****r. Nate, get your a*s in shape cause I’m coming to break your fu*king face.

Masvidal has had a grudge against Diaz since their BMF title fight at UFC 244. While ‘Gamebred’ won the fight fair and square via Doctor’s stoppage, Diaz taunted Masvidal as the referee and the doctors saved him. As such, Masvidal looked forward to making Diaz eat his words in their rematch.
Both Masvdal and Diaz were former UFC fighters who were considered to be stars of the promotion. While Diaz fought off his contract in 2022, Masvidal retired from MMA last year. However, he announced he was unretired at the beginning of 2024. As such, he worked it out with the UFC and green-lit his boxing bout with Nate Diaz. This fight goes down on July 01 in Inglewood, California.
Details about Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz
Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal was long in the making. In the meantime, the animosity between the two and the popularity of this matchup had only increased. The two UFC veterans last competed in a BMF title match in the UFC under MMA rules. As such, they now settle the beef in a boxing bout.
This boxing bout is scheduled for ten three-minute rounds inside the squared circle and will take place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on June 01. The matchup is at 175lbs which is close to their natural fighting weight class of 170lbs (welterweight). Further, the fight is promoted by ‘Fanmio’ who promoted the lucrative Floyd Mayweather vs. Jake Paul exhibition bout in 2021. They also present the show alongside Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing Promotions and Diaz’s Real Fight Inc.
Diaz would be coming off a loss to Jake Paul in his only boxing bout and Masvidal would be entering the professional boxing world for the fight time. With history and past scuffles, this matchup presents its drama. As such, the fans are excited to see the UFC veterans go at it in boxing and look forward to their clash.
