Devin Haney had a heated rivalry with Ukrainian boxer Vasiliy Lomachenko. The American undisputed lightweight champion controversially won against Loma. Like many other boxing fans, Spiderman star Tom Holland believed that Lomachenko beat Haney in their controversial boxing match earlier this year.
Holland decided to join an interview with famous motivational speaker Jay Shetty in the past week. The two discussed a variety of topics ranging from problems with consuming alcohol to the Haney vs. Lomachenko fight. Tom Holland decided to educate an unknowing Jay Shetty about what went down in the boxing match. Tom seemed to agree with boxing fans like Joe Rogan regarding the fight’s outcome.
Tom believes there should be a rematch between Devin Haney and Vasiliy Lomachenko because there was a consensus amongst the people that Haney did not deserve to be the champion. However, it may or may not happen and Holland understood the business aspect of the boxing scene.
Following Tom Holland’s admiration for his “favorite boxer,” Devin Haney reacted recklessly and stated, “I always had a thing for Zendaya.” This was shot at Tom Holland’s relationship with actress Zendaya which has come to fruition recently. Haney continues to clown himself online for inappropriate reasons.
Shakur Stevenson becomes WBC’s mandatory challenger for Devin Haney
“Sugar” Shakur Stevenson has created a lot of hype with his return to mainstream boxing. The young boxer almost reached the top of the hill before his troubles with the law. Stevenson was charged with ‘misdemeanor battery‘ after allegedly initiating a fight in the parking lot along with another friend. “Sugar” has won multiple boxing championships and will eventually become a 300 million USD fighter like Floyd Mayweather as some of industry experts predicted.
On the other hand, Devin Haney has remained the lightweight boxing champion for a while now. Although many fans questioned Haney’s skills in the boxing ring, it seems to have done its job so far. The fight between Stevenson and Haney has become a significant prospect for boxing organizers ever since Shakur’s return. As per recent sources, the WBC has taken a step to push the much-anticipated fight.
The WBC has given Devin Haney an ultimatum regarding his next matchup. He must either commit to fighting Shakur Stevenson at lightweight or Regis Prograis at super-lightweight. Haney’s decision must be taken by the end of this week to comply with the WBC’s needs.
