The NASCAR Cup Series is set to make Cup racing debut at Iowa Speedway and it would mark the first ever race at the track since it was opened in 2006. It’s been a facility that has long been worthy of a Cup date, considering it has had one of the best facilities among most of the track that is owned by NASCAR.

Among many drivers that are excited about the move to Iowa is 2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski. The RFK Racing owner driver believes that Iowa is part of the country that is hungry to see racing and is ready to embrace it from the business side as well as the racing entertainment side of it.

[Iowa] is exposing us to just a different part of the country, different region that’s hungry for our sport and it’s going to embrace us at all levels — whether it be the fans in the stands or the corporate partnerships.
Brad Keselowski told Bob Pockrass.

He went on highlight how NASCAR some times overlook passionate fanbases for flashy venues such as New York city or hosting street races such as in Chicago.

I think we get caught up in this flashy New York City or pick your hot city of the day, and we forget sometimes to serve markets that already love us.

Brad Keselowski empathizes with NASCAR

While further talking about the point, the No:6 Ford driver pointed out that he has empathy for NASCAR as it is tough balancing act for the sport regarding race date decisions as they have to serve both the fanbase while also looking into new venues. So he happy and excited NASCAR has decided give Iowa a shot.

That’s a tough balancing act that I have empathy for NASCAR when they make those decisions. But is nice to go somewhere like that, where the fan base is already there. They’re ready. They’re excited, and they’re committed to our sport.
Brad Keselowski said.

Just like the veteran driver, most of the NASCAR community is looking forward to how the race weekend would playout the track. The future of Cup racing at the track would be determined by how good the race will be.
