Richard Childress Racing’s veteran driver Kyle Busch is one of the biggest talents in the history of the sport and the winningest in the all three national series combined. He has been on the victory lane 231 times in the national level, with 63 of them being Cup wins, 102 being Xfinity triumphs and 66 wins being in the Truck series.

One of the major reasons behind Kyle Busch having significant number on wins is NASCAR allowing full-time Cup racers to race full-time in the lower tier series. The experience he gained racing veteran Cup racers made him the champion he is. But since NASCAR limited the number of races veterans can run, the promising talents no longer has the luxury of fighting the experienced drivers and learning from them.

Recently 2012 Cup champion Brad Keselowski shared how there will not another driver like Kyle Busch ever unless NASCAR changes their policy. He pointed out that when the sanctioning body eliminated the Truck and Xfinity series racers has made sure that no one will get to do what Busch was able to do over the years in the premier stock car division.

Once they eliminated the Cup drivers from the Xfinity Series and Truck Series, or severely limited them, there might be another Kyle Busch out there, but they’ll never get to do what he did.

The RFK Racing driver also talked about learning about racing, now being a co-owner of his team. He pointed out that he gets the most knowledge while walking the shop floor and not the meeting or calls he has with the crews.

You get called into meetings, Zoom calls, and whatever fire needs putting out, but walking the floor is where I learn the most. Nine times out of ten, you see something and think, ‘Oh, that makes sense.’ But every now and then, you come across something where you think, ‘Whoa, back it up.

The comment from Keselowski shows how much he is cherishing his role as co-owner/driver of RFK since the start of the next-gen era. He still has a lot left to offer to the team and lead the team to its former glory days.
